Bridget McGuigan finished her undergraduate studies at SUNY New Paltz in 2019 with her Bachelor’s in Journalism and Digital Media Productions. She recently received her MFA in documentary film from CUNY City College in 2023.

Her love for documentaries in particular stems from her interest in journalism and non-fiction writing from when she was a teenager. When she discovered her interest in film at SUNY New Paltz, it only made sense to her to combine these passions. She loves to tell true stories while still giving her subjects the opportunity to speak for and represent themselves. Bridget’s films currently focus on celebrating artists, niche subcultures/communities, and personal anecdotes.

Bridget also adores editing films, both fiction and non-fiction. She’s been an editor for over 5 years and learns something new from every project she works on, while still bringing her own unique expertise to the table. She finds the editing process similar to putting together a jigsaw puzzle; she makes sure all the pieces fit together perfectly to create a cohesive and captivating picture.

When Bridget isn’t editing or directing, she can be found playing with her cat or digitizing strange VHS tapes.
